Coimbatore Institute of Technology (CIT), started in 1956 by Sri. V. Rangasamy Naidu is reckoned for its academic and research excellence in engineering and technology. CIT is a Government Aided Autonomous Institution affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The institute has a reputation with service of competent well qualified faculty members and dynamic management to set highest standards in engineering research and development. CIT offers undergraduate, post graduate and PhD programs with curriculum of global standards, promoting the students to compete internationally. All the courses are accredited by NBA and NAAC. The institute has celebrated its Golden Jubilee in the year 2006 and has collaborations with leading frontier universities and industries in India and abroad for promotion of innovative engineering ideas. CIT has a laurel foliage on the head as an emblem of victory. CIT has been ranked 3rd in ARIIA – 2020, in the category of Govt, and Govt. Aided Institutions and colleges. Recently, CIT was awarded with “The Platinum Technology Award for Quality and Best Trade Name - 2018” by the President of Association Otherways Management and Consulting, Paris, France, “Vienna ESOR Award – 2017”, “Decree of Merit – 2016” and “Pictorial Testimonial of Achievement and Distinction – 2016” by the International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, England.CIT was awarded with "WORLDCOB PINNACLE Award 2020","Best outstanding Educational international Award 2020" and "The Excellence in Higher Education Award 2020".

About MEA

The Mechanical Engineering Association(MEA) of CIT encompasses the students of the department across all years, focused on the overall development of students by conducting various co-curricular activities, organizing seminars and workshops to create awareness among the student community.

The objective of the association is:

  1. To provide a platform for students to display and improve their technical, organizational and communication skills.

  2. To expose students to real life problems and to give them the idea of the role of an engineer both technical and managerial by organizing industrial visits as well as guest lectures from top industry experts on various topics

  3. To conduct hands on training and workshops to ignite the young minds in learning advanced techniques.

  4. To conduct different technical events for students within and outside the department such as Hackathons, Paper Presentations and Symposiums.  

  5. To provide Awareness on IES, GATE, SSC, RRB exams and Placements.

  6. To establish a genial bond between Senior and Junior across the years.
